So I know I never post here...but in case anyone still looks at it, we just got home from the hospital with the baby (well, Friday...but it still feels like the same day to me :-P) so go see pictures of the new baby!!! :-) The really short version is that I went in for a check up last Tuesday morning and ended up being induced that day, I had her at 2am on Wednesday. Her name is Kaira Azure, 5 lbs 11 oz. And she's a cutie. :-)

I really meant to update as soon as we got back from Nebraska...buuut I think I'm still recovering from the traveling. :-P The trip was awesome, no major problems at all (which is pretty amazing). We got in on Wednesday, walked out of the airport and I immediately remembered why I don't like Nebraska...the freakin cold weather!! I can't believe how spolied I've already become from California weather, I better get over that soon. :-P Anyway, we left the airport and drove to Lincoln. We went to Whit's daycare to pick her up, and met Wendy and Durrell there. The kids are getting so big so fast, it makes me sad to not be around more. We went to Lazlo's that night and met Cari and TJ there. Mmmmm. Lazlos. I miss that. A lot. My rainbow chicken was quite tasty. :-)

Thursday morning I went to get my hair done (everyone was working anyway). It was nice, I like the lady that does it a lot. Ummm, then I think we went shopping for a while with Cari and Wendy. We met the DS crew at Shogun that night. Sorry we missed you Shawn!! It was kind of a rushed-crazy trip and I just sort of assumed everyone knew when we were in town already. :-/ We'll catch up next time!! Shogun was a lot of fun though, it was nice to see Eric and Ryan and Seth again. Everyone seems to be doing well, which is good too. And the food was yummy. You'll soon see that this trip was all about the food. :-P

Friday started the insanity. Chris and I picked up Jared from the airport and went to pick up Valentinos. Unfortunately we picked the insanely slow, highly understaffed Val's and spent about an hour waiting. That was annoying. We finally got it and went to meet Javin to visit our Grandma. She's still...pretty crazy. :-P But she's nice! We spent a looong time playing games with her (that's a tradition at that house). We also told her I was pregnant, which made her pretty happy. We finally left to pick up Whit from daycare and took her back to our hotel to get ready for Wendy's graduation that night. The graduation was a lot bigger than I expected. It was really nice though. The kids all looked good and acutally behaved themselves. There were a lot of us there for her...me and Chris, Ricky and all the kids, Jared, Javin, TJ, Cari, Janet, Cheryl and Pam. Afterwards we headed over to Spaghetti works where we met even more people (Jenny, Sharon, Titus, Raquel, Leslie, Alec and Blake). It was so nice for her to have so many people to celebrate. :-)

Saturday I stayed in bed a long time. The day before knocked me out. :-P The pregnancy thing is kicking my butt, and add to that being in a different time zone and doing a thousand things...I just couldn't do it anymore. We went to the mall later on (when did Lincoln's mall get so much better?), and then Chris went to the "meeting" with my parents. That was pretty uneventful, but at least they did actually meet him. Lots of small talk and ackwardness. :-P Oh well, it didn't have to be that way...that was their choice. Wendy and the kids checked into our hotel that night so we went swimming and had DaVinci's and hung out there. And then I went to sleep for a very long time again.

Sunday we just kind of hung out until we had to leave...I hate leaving. :-( Oh, we did go to El Toro...that was my last Lincoln food to hit. :-P Our stinkin flight was delayed and/or cancelled out of Omaha, so we ended up on another airline. We finally got to San Diego...one of our bags was still in Phoenix. This was about midnight our time, so we were pretty dead, and that was the last thing we wanted to deal with. We finally got out of the airport, took the shuttle to our car, and drove home (about 45 minutes away). The REALLY sucky thing was that we both had to work Monday morning, so we got about 4-5 hours sleep and had to be up again.

I woke up the next day with a horrible cold, probably from one of the planes. So the cold, morning sickness, and being extremely tired made the work week soooo hard. I think that was the worst week I've had so far. The nauesa thing needs to go away. I just can't deal with that much longer. :-P This weekend has finally let me get caught up on my sleep though. I've pretty much been laying around doing nothing for the last 4 days. Seriously, ask Chris...he'll tell you. :-P He could possibly get annoyed with that soon, but he should have thought of that before he knocked me up!

We went to the doctor on Tuesday. Nothing too spectacular yet. They took A LOT of blood. Six vials in all. That wasn't fun. But the guy who did it was good...although he REALLY reminded me of Matt which kind of freaked me out. He got all the blood in the first stick though, so I was impressed. My next appointment the said they "might" do an ultrasound. Yay! They better!

I'm not looking forward to going back to work at all tomorrow. I'm ready to quit. :-P Too bad we're getting into the really busy season. This week is month end too. Damn it. That means I can't even call in sick!

I've put up all the pictures from our trip on my other site...go see!

Dec. 3rd, 2005 @ 07:32 pm A lot to catch up on...
Current Mood: tired
Its been a busy couple of weeks, so I guess I should go back to Thanksgiving first. We had dinner here with some of the other guys from Chris' work. It was really good. I was pretty scared (since I've never made a turkey before) but everything actually turned out really well. We had turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy (best gravy ever btw...one of the guys made it, he went to chef school before joining the Marines), stuffing, homemade mac & cheese, yams, corn, fruit salad, rolls...ummm, and some other stuff. It was a lot of stinkin food, that's all I remember. I'll post the pictures of it on my other site.

Friday after Thanksgiving kind of sucked b/c I had to work, but my boss ended up letting me go home at noon which was awesome. We went shopping at Toys R Us for some of my nephews and then went home to watch the Nebraska game. That was so great...words can't even describe it. :-P I think I was just so excited to finally see them actually win...practically every game that's been on TV here they've lost. Anyway, that was a fun day.

Saturday...We got the really good news. We found out that I'm pregnant. :-D So, I spent the rest of the day calling all kinds of people and telling them...and then shopping on base for camo baby socks. :-P They're so stinkin cute, and Chris wouldn't let me get them until I was actually pregnant. Thursday I took work off to go to the hospital to get tested again, b/c the insurance is annoying and doesn't believe that I'm pregnant until they test me. Of course, it was positive again...so now I have another appointment for a few weeks from now. To say we're excited and happy doesn't begin to explain it...I just think its going to be hard for me to wait for another 8 months!

I'm also getting excited about going back to Nebraska in a few weeks. Its coming up fast! It'll be nice to see everyone again. :-) Shawn...I read in your post about us getting together...and yah! we still want to!! We're sort of thinking that Thursday night may be the only time we can really do it though, so let me know your schedule if that will work out for you. It'll be fun! :-)

I think that's all the major stuff...there's a TON of work crap, but it'd be a novel if I tried to explain it all. The short version is that one of our sales people quit and is now threatening to sue the company for sexual harassment. And he's a guy...saying that he was sexually harassed by both a male and female manager at work. The whole thing is so ridiculous it just makes me sick (if you knew the people being accused, you'd know immediately he was lying). Plus, we work in a small office, his desk is about 20 feet from mine...if anything was going on, it would be witnessed by others. Grrrr, what a baby. :-P On top of that, another sales person and office staff person quit. We're going into the busy season, so there's no time to train new people, but since we're so severely understaffed, there's no other option...its just a vicious cycle that makes work very tiring. At least I get a few days off in a couple weeks. :-)

So I need to get some info out to Eric, Ryan K, and Shawn. Being the lazy person that I am, I'm just posting it. :-P Chris and I are going to be back in Lincoln in December for a few nights, so we all need to get together one night for dinner or something. We (and now I'm including Cari) were thinking Thursday night (Dec 15) at Shogun? Mmmmm. Sounds so good doesn't it? Can't resist, can you? :-P We'll try to get Seth there too, so it'll be just like old times again (awww *tear*). So let me know what you guys think and if it'll work out!

The only nice thing about having to work on Saturdays (which really does suck) is getting to go home early on Wednesdays. :-) Working 4 hours is my kind of day. It was kind of a fight to get out of there though...one manager wanted me to stay, the other said I could go...very confusing. Oh well, I ended up getting to leave, yay! Corie should be here soon, I think we'll go get lunch or something. Apparently she's on an interview now so hopefully that'll go well.

We went to Sea World on Sunday. It was a lot of fun. Of course I got sun burnt again, but thats okay, I'm used to it. We need more people to come visit so I can go there again. :-P We decided on a sea/ocean theme for the baby room, so we were buying stuff there...that was fun. Now the only thing left is just to get pregnant. Technicalities.

Chris came in to my work on Saturday to bring breakfast, and he ended up looking at some problems we're having with one of our computer programs. Our "IT" guy was there and just fell in love with Chris. :-P Seriously. He won't stop talking about how smart he is. Its hilarious (not that he's not smart, I know he is...but geez!). The story that Glynn (IT guy) told Steve (general manager) was that he saw Chris walk in the door, he hung up the phone and went to introduce himself, and Chris said "Hi, I'm Chris...this is your problem." (And he was right, of course :-P) Well, Glynn doesn't have the authority to let Chris mess around on the system (considering that it could criple the company) but he was definetly impressed.

Anyway, in order to finally fix this issue, they had to bring our consultants back in (the ones that charge $165 an hour)...to do pretty much exactly what Chris said was wrong. So after they left, I was asked by Glynn and Steve if Chris would want to come in and work on another problem...since this other company is ripping them off. So now Chris gets to come to work with me. :-)

Oh yah, best news this week: we finally booked tickets back to Nebraska for December. :-) So really, we need to set a night where we can all get together for dinner or something.

Okay, weeelll, Corie called and I need to go meet her for lunch, so I'll have to write more later.

So today I came home for lunch to see a huge box sort of thing in front of our door. This is just hilarious...but the foot locker that Chris sent from when he was in Iraq JUST now got here. We had completely given up any hope that we'd ever see it again. It was sent on Feb 12 from Iraq. So, a mere 7 months after it was sent, it got here. I'm not sure if I should give the credit to the US postal service, or the military...I guess they can just share it. :-P

By the way...where the heck is Chris? :-P I haven't heard from him since Sunday. *sigh* I miss my Christopher. :-(

Sep. 19th, 2005 @ 06:35 pm What a werid day...
Current Mood: tired
Today was just an odd, odd day. Not a normal Monday at all. It started when I drove up to work to see that something was oddly out of place...humm, why can I see into our office while sitting in my car...? So I slowly start walking towards the door, crunching as I go...humm...why is there broken glass everywhere? So I finally get inside and there is glass EVERYWHERE. The entire entrance, and about 3 desks were covered with tiny pieces of glass. What happened is that someone, or some group of people, broke out 4 huge windows in the front of our office. These are huge windows, they go from the ground to the ceiling...and they broke 4 of them. But they didn't take anything, even though there were 3 computers, including one in a box that had never even been opened, sitting right there. So weird. Even weirder though...we have another unit at the opposite end of our building for our company. (We're a suite in a huge building...its probably over a block long. But the owners of our company also own the entire building, so we have spaces through out it.) The other space is mainly used for storage, and it has another cooler that is used during busy times. There are no markings or signs or anything to indicate that it is associated with our company. Well, they broke in the windows down there too. And again, nothing was missing. It had to be someone who knew that was our company though...and believe me, we have no shortage of disgruntled employees. :-P

So this happened on Saturday night. There are alarms on both offices, so of course, they were all going off. I don't really know why, maybe b/c there were multiple alarms going off, but the security company sent out 5 police cars, a helicoper, and the K-9 unit! They didn't find anyone, but apparently someone cut themselves on one of the windows, so they got their blood and are trying to run DNA tests to see if its in the system. My job has never been so interesting! :-P So anyway, I spent all morning going around taking pictures for insurance and trying to avoid glass and things like that. OH! And I found a super cool new job. They sent a guy out to get the rest of the windows out that were broken (they were shattered but still in the frame). I was expecting some sophisticated way of them doing it...nope, he got up on the desk, pulled out a hammer and threw it through the window. It was sooo cool! I need that job. We now have the front boarded up...we look like hurricane victims.

The other weird thing about today was that they hired 2 new employees. They're named Katrina and Wendy. Freaky. Seriously, I was creeped out. I knew about the one person being named Katrina, which is weird enough, but then Wendy??? Its a sign. I don't know of what...but something. I'm supposed to be Kat at work now, b/c 2 Katrina's is just too much. :-P

I chopped my hair off this weekend. I'm not sure exactly how much, but probably about 6 inches or so. Its so light...I really like it. :-) Its always hard to get used to it though...I keep running my fingers through my hair and wondering where the rest is, hehe.

So I came home from work to find a "note" from our manager, aka the apartment Nazi. I don't know what it is about this lady, but I just....can not deal with her at all. And I'm not a hard person to get along with...I swear she's just a micro managing bitch. :-P

I've had problems from her from before we even moved in, then she REALLY pissed me off the week my family was visiting, trying to tell me that the kids couldn't be in the pool area, trying to claim they were 'breaking the rules.' Too bad I was right there with them the entire time and knew she was lying to my face. Then she decides to tell me that we can't leave towels on the balcony to dry (??). Seriously, she needs a freakin life. Anyway, I just don't like her. :-P

So now we get this addendum to our lease. Basically it said (in the most confusing way I could possibly imagine) that they were no longer going to be paying for the garbage and water for the apartment complex. I understand that its expensive to live here...but good lord! We already pay $1250 just for rent a month. Plus we pay gas and electric, now we have to pay everything else too? Bitches. It makes me want to move. Our lease is up anyway, so we could. But then I think about moving...especially the TV...and I suddenly want to cry. :-P So I guess I'll just suck it up, sign the damn paper, and pay it. I'd ask Chris...but oh yah, he's not here. :-P I'm not bitter. Not at all.

Remember how I used to complain that he was gone all week at his class? Maybe I shouldn't have complained so much. He was "back" starting last Monday, and I swear I've seen/talked to him less than ever. And now he left yesterday for 10 days. Grrrrrr. The military is almost as stupid as our apartment manager.

So I'm suck here at work today (grrr) b/c we're still waaay understaffed and the person scheduled for today had to go to her sons soccer game. Well, there's only 3 other people that could work it, one of them worked last week, the other works next week. Soooo, that leaves me. Damn. Oh well, at least I get to leave early this week someday, that's always nice.

Work has been interesting for the past week, mostly b/c we're missing 3 office staff memebers (either quit or fired). The problem is, even though they're gone, their work is still here. Humm, guess what that means? It means that those of us still remaining here have to do all of our work, plus cover 3 other positions. Its crap, I tell ya! I was told like 20 times on Friday that I was really "appreciated" (haha) here. All I wanted to say was "shut up and hire some new people." :-P Oh, weird thing though...one of the people that their supposed to be hiring to start in 2 weeks is named Katrina. And she'll sit right next to me. What are the chances of that? :-P I think I'll have to start going as Kat here to avoid confusion.

My sister called me on Wednesday to give some really sad news. One of the people we worked with at Bryan (and that my sister was pretty good friends with)...well, her 17 year old daughter was killed in a car accident. Its soooo sad. :-( I sent flowers from here on Thursday, and I guess Wendy said she saw them at the funeral so I'm glad they made it. Its just so scary to think how quickly your life can change and how much can be lost.

Okay well I guess I should finish "working." :-)

Last week seemed to drag by so slowly. At least its the weekend now though, AND no work Monday. Woohoo! :-)

Friday was Cories last day at work (sad) but we did get to have a little going away party for her so that was fun. There was lots of food and not a lot of working. Perfect combo. :-P Corie and I met Chris later on for lunch, and continued to stuff our faces with even more food. Later on that day, I happened to be standing by the front of our office and I saw a car pulling in the parking lot that looked a lot like mine. Then I realized it was my car. :-P Chris had taken it while I was working to get it washed and waxed. Its so pretty and shiny now. :-) He's a nice boy. Everyone at my work still thinks we're way too young to be married...of course, my nick name there is "the 10 year old" so I guess thats not too surprising. I had the production manager make Chris a big bouquet since he was graduating on Friday and she just stared at me for a while and finally was like..."you're married???" Hehe, silly people. The bouquet was reeeeallly pretty though...I don't care if its weird to give a guy flowers. Next time I'm going to send them to him at work. :-P

We saw Transporter 2 yesterday. It was pretty good...a lot like the first one (of course), but it was still pretty entertaining. Oh!! And we got new dishes...
http://www.lnt.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1350599
They're cooool...and they match with our silverware finally.

We were planning on going to see King Tut today...but I think they're sold out. Chris might kill me. :-P I was the one who kept saying all week that we didn't need to get them ahead. Oops.

Aug. 25th, 2005 @ 12:30 pm I want to see Tutankhamun!!
Current Mood: crazy
There's a big King Tut exhibit in LA. I was informed about it by John at work and I don't think he'll be satisfied until I go see it. :-P John is freakin hilarious though...a natural born sales person (which would explain why he's the sales manager). He keeps the place extremely interesting. Today one of his weird customers emailed him a picture of himself and apparently he was naked. Without even a moments hesitation, he called back and said "well, I see that it must have been cold that day..." He's just too funny.

My really sad news from work is that Corie is leaving. :-( I'm soooo bummed about that, but at the same time I'm really happy for her b/c she got an awesome job working with kids part time, which is exactly what she wanted. But work won't be nearly as fun without her there. She still wants to hang out, but but...it just won't be the same. :-(

What else...we saw 40 year old virgin this weekend, sooo funny. I love Steve Carrell, but I wasn't expecting the movie to be that good. It was great. :-)

There was a lizard in our living room on Friday too. I think Chris brought it home with him from the desert but he denies it. :-P Freaked me right out though. Chris caught it and let it go outside, but man...I still think I see it running across the floor!

I got off work early today since I worked on Saturday. I could soooo work part time...especially if I had a baby, hehe. Its just so nice to be done at 11am. :-)

Only one more week of Chris' class and then he'll be back during the week again! Yay! Well, until he goes out to the field, which I think is like 2 weeks away, then he'll be gone again. :-P I give up. The military sucks. How do they expect me to get pregnant when he's never here?

This week is going by so slowly. I guess its Thursday, but I have to work Saturday so it doesn't seem as close to the weekend. Stupid weekend work. :-P Its only until 11 though, so it shouldn't be too horrible. We had another person get fired at work today. Its crazy. The turnover in this company is retarded. If they had any sense at all they'd know not to keep getting rid of people, but nooooo, they just want to narrow-mindedly downsize (which is stupid b/c apparently they get insanely busy starting in Sept). Oh well, its just a little unnerving, its hard to feel very secure in this company.

Que mas, que mas...oh, well theres the fact that we decided to have a baby, but I think a lot of people already know that. I've been having fun picking out furniture and stuff all week. :-P The crib I want is $500 (and thats the cheapest one I could find like it) buuuuut I think Chris really secretly wants it too so hopefully we'll still get it. :-) Its very exciting, but uh...I just want it now! This waiting crap is not for me. And technically we're not even 'waiting' yet, b/c I'm not pregnant yet...

Well the family has come and gone, and it looks like everyone survived. :-) It was really a lot of fun, and I'm having a hard time adjusting to them not being here. I'd forgotten how crazy things are with all the kids around, but I love it...except the messes they make. This house/my car has never, ever, ever been even remotely close to as dirty as it was when they left. Kids are like that though, so it wasn't too bad.

Brief recap...
Don't ever, ever, ever go to Disney Land during the summer, especially when they're celebrating their 50th anniversary. I have never seen so many people in one place. It was MADDNESS!! :-P The wait time for the best rides were 120 minutes. Just...insanity. More trouble than it was worth. I also got horribly sun burnt the first day we were there and was in pain the rest of the week. Someday I'll learn that I'm a white girl. :-P
Sea World was much better, except for the horrible traffic to and from...but that's to be expected here. It was a lot more fun and we had Jared and Javin with us to help with the kids. We went on one of those Raging River rides and I got so soaked that I broke my camera. That's rather annoying, but the day was fun.
We went to the beach the 2 other days. The first day was great, no problems what so ever (except that we couldn't find any bathrooms there :-P). The water is bloody freezing, but you get used to it. You do not, however, get used to the taste of the water. Nasty, nasty, nasty. I was doing pretty good with the waves until I rode on one of the boogie boards, got flipped over headfirst and scraped my knee on the sand (like rug burn, but worse). I was done after that. :-P Apparently it looked pretty funny though, b/c when I finally came back up everyone was laughing hysterically...mofos!
The second day at the beach started with some kid telling us that there were a lot of jellyfish around. Of course, we ignored him.
*Titus and I walking into the water* me: "Whatever, there's nothing here...." Titus: "Yah, its nice out here...hey...what's that...?" This was followed by both of us screaming and running like little girls out of the water. :-P Well, of course no one else had seen it, so we thought maybe we were just imagining it (b/c we really didn't know what they looked like). So we decided to go in again...but this time we made Wendy, Jared, Javin, and TJ go too. We were all at different areas and all the sudden you here everyone going "AHHHH!!!" The really creepy thing is that we were all seeing different jellyfish...there were THAT many in there. Needless to say, we all got out of the water. We walked up and down the beach to see if it was better in other areas, only to find tons of dead ones washed up on the shore. They are NASTY looking. Big, gooey blobs of jelly...thats what they look like when they're dead. :-P It kind of ruined the swimming part but we still had fun on the beach. I was glad we decided to stay out of the water though...Corie (from work) got stung by a jellyfish that same day. :-/
The trip ended kind of badly...I'm still not quite sure what happened, but basically they ended up leaving in the middle of the night and I really didn't get a chance to say good bye to the kids. :-( But other than that, everything went really well and I wasn't ready for them to leave at all. Anyway, we have TONS of pictures, so hopefully I can get them up somewhere soon.

I also wasn't ready to go back to work. When I came back on Monday my desk was completely covered with papers/folders/other odd crap. I couldn't even sit down b/c there was already a pile of orders on my chair. :-P Basically, they did very little of my work last week. And what they did do...they left in a nice little pile for me to check when I got back. And, of course, at least half of those were wrong. :-P Plus, we have 4 people on vacation this week, so we're having to cover all their work too...its just not working. I'm hoping that tomorrow I can finish all the back work I have and finally start on this week...I hate being so far behind.

Time for me to catch up on The Daily Show!

This week has gone by sooooo slowly. I hate waiting for what I want. :-P But Wendy, Ricky and the kids leave tomorrow at about midnight, they'll be here on Sunday sometime. Jared and Javin fly in Saturday, and TJ and Titus fly in tonight. :-D I think this is the longest I've actually been away from everyone, I don't like it! We just need to live closer. I bought boogie boards for the boys today, although none of us really know how to use them. :-P Everyone at work told me I had to get them though, and Corie offered to show me how to use them tomorrow after work. I'm not sure that's going to work into the sched-ule, but we'll see. She thinks I'm funny b/c I'm from out of state and don't know the regular California things. She about died laughing when I was just amazed by this flower I was photographing. Its call Bird of Paradise (a quite fitting name too), but apparently they're everywhere here, so its not a big deal at all. She just laughed and said "you're obviously not from California. (and then a few minutes later...) hey Katrina, have you ever seen a palm tree??" Snot. :-P So I told her that I bet if she went to Nebraska she wouldn't know what corn is. We have very intelligent conversations there, hehe.

Our other amusement at work today was when I was helping Corie do some fedex labels for one of our bouquet sites. Well, the computer was asleep, and for some reason wouldn't turn back on, so she kept hitting keys trying to get it to work. It finally did, but somehow when she was hitting those keys she managed to address the bouquet to "kkk." I told her that I didn't think they would appreciate that...until I saw the city/state that it was going to... Whitesburg, KY. Seriously, who names a town "Whitesburg"?? Especially in Kentucky. We learn so many weird things there.

Work has taken a strange turn since my last post. It stated on Monday when my manager called me and the 2 warehouse managers in for a meeting. After last week, I was sure we were all going to get chewed out for something. :-P But she was oddly nice...it was almost creepy. It turns out that one of our customers was threatening to take a certain bouquet away. The problem is, that bouquet alone generates $55,000 in sales every month. Soooo, its sort of a big deal. That was the whole reason she was all bipolar the week before...I just don't understand why she didn't tell us earlier, it would have made a lot more sense. So ever since then, everything has been great again. Then today my dept manager, the general manager, the sales manager, and the IT guy all told me that the pictures I had done (and sufficently manipulated in photoshop :-P) for a new program were just awesome. Then later my manager called me again to just say that she was so happy with the photos and I was doing such a good job with them. I was like...Ummmm, everyones being super nice...I'm so getting fired. :-P We all have to work on Saturday though for month end (which really sucks) so hopefully I'll just get through that and go to vacation still liking work.

I guess Whit cut her finger really bad today and was on the way to the hospital. :-( I'm still waiting to hear how it turned out...my poor baby. :-(

Sooo its Sunday again. Sunday's are beginning to be my least favorite day of the week. It means Chris leaves and work tomorrow. :-( The good news though...after this week all my family will be here, yay! I'm so excited to see everyone. We bought the tickets for Disney Land and Sea World this weekend. Holy crap was that expensive. Almost $1000 for all of them. Considering its for 11 people though, its not really that bad, but still...it just feels wrong to spend that much money on tickets. I know we'll have fun though, and the kids will especially love it. I think most everything is taken care of for them now...the house is mosly clean (after nagging Chris to clean his closet :-P), we have the tickets, I have a ton of stuff for the kids (we finally found floaties for Whit, hehe)...I guess I just have to buy food for when they're here and then we should be good. :-)

Mini rant about work:
Okay, this may not be mini. I was quite pissed off Thursday and Friday at work. I'm not sure if my manager was PMSing, or I was or what, but holy crap...I wanted to just walk out soooo bad. First of all, I have 2 managers (I'm the only one in the office like this) and it makes things get confusing at times. Technically, my boss is the office manager. But I work for the Mass Marketing dept, who also has a manager. The vast majority of my job is in support of the Mass Marketing manager, but I also am cross trained for other departments and do some work with them. Up to this point, I've loved both of these managers, no problems what so ever. Well, Thursday, Corie and I (the girl in the next cubical) are just sitting there, minding our own business...not talking (haha) when the office manager comes up and puts memos on our desks and walks away. Here's the memo: "The office has been very quiet the last 20 minutes, lets keep it that way. We all need to cut down on the chit chat." Wft? This again? I forgot that we're not supposed to speak. Such bs. So Corie and I are already annoyed by that, and we decided to go to lunch together. The day before, we decided to go to a scrapbooking store over our lunch to get cool paper to decorate our cubicals and put up pictures. No big deal, right? You wouldn't think so, considering that every other person in the office has decorations in their areas. Well, we didn't buy enough the first day, so we went back on Thursday to get some more. We get back to work, I sit down at my desk and have the paper sitting out next to me. Three seconds later, my manager (mass mkt manager) walks over to my desk and goes "put that away and get to work." *blank stare* me: "ooookay?" her: *looks at the pictures I have up already* "so...did you do all this on company time or on your break?" me: *still trying desperately to understand this* "uhhhh...on my breaks." (you Nazi bitch :-P) So then she just walks off. So that was point A to piss me off.

Friday was worse though. We had a major problem with our computer program, most likely caused by some consultants who had come in last week to fix a totally different problem. Basically, ever since they were there, I haven't been able to post things correctly, which means they can't be invoiced and we can't bill customers. Pretty big problem. Even worse is that on Friday I had about 60 orders that were supposed to be invoiced that day (which is very unusual, we can normally wait a couple of days to bill). So this is obviously a big problem. The thing that pissed me off was that I discovered this problem on THRUSDAY and told both managers about it. No one seemed to care until Friday. I get to work at 7am...and I realized it wasn't fixed by 7:25 and again told my manager. Well, NOW she's freakin out about it and calling the programmers etc. So the guy gets there at about 10:30 or so. My manager instantly sends him over to me and wants me to explain the problem. Fine, so I show him. He sits at my computer, has me try things, he tries things, he asks me questions, he calls other people...and so on. Soon after he gets there Julie comes up to me and wants to know why I'm not doing any work. Seriously? Could it be b/c you sent a programmer to my desk, which he's now working at, signed into my name on all our programs, and he's asking me all kinds of questions? Could that possibly be the reason? Or could it be b/c I CAN'T do any work, b/c the program isn't working...a problem that I told you about the day before? Humm? Could that be it? So what does she do then? Oooooh, pisses me off further. I guess as a way to force me to "work" she sent me out into the warehouse to do the most retarded and unnecessary project she could think of...organize (seriously) THOUSANDS of sleeves that we have as examples in the plant. Fine...I'll do it. I also threw about 3/4 of them away. :-P It was kind of a good stress reliever actually, hehe.

Ugh...so yah that was work. The program still wasn't working when I left on Friday. I'm sure that was somehow my fault. I also sort of think the programmer was sort of...not as good as he should have been. Granted, the problem wasn't what he was an expert in, but I felt like I knew more about the thing than he did (and I know VERY little). He worked on it for about 3 hours at my desk before going back to our server room. Well then I sat down at my desk and started reading some of the posting reports he had left on my desk, which he had said were all correct, so he assumed that wasn't a problem. Well...within like 10 seconds I noticed that all the posting dates on the report were showing up 0/00/0000. I'm no computer programmer getting paid $165 an hour, but I'm pretty sure that could be part of our issue. I just pray that thing is fixed when I go back tomorrow. And I'm going to try to have a better attitude, hopefully that will help things. Its just so strange how much I've loved this job until the last 2 days...I don't want that to ruin things. I just have to get through this week (which also includes working Saturday morning, grrrr) and then I get a week off. :-D

We went to see Wedding Crashers today. It was really funny. Funny in an American Pie kind of way. :-P Well, not that bad actually, but similar. It was pretty entertaining though, hehe.

I've also decided that Chris and I are way too immature to be married. :-P I don't even remember how this whole thing started, b/c it was weeks ago...but I'll just say that today it ended up with a Snickers bar in my bath tub. Hehehe, so disturbing. We have a very healthy marriage actually...but I don't think other people would understand it. :-P
